Since my studio room “flooded” (ceiling leaked. badly.) I’ve been working in my “office” (dining room) next to this RMI Electra Piano that I’m caring for.  Some serious dudes used to make these things sing: Tony Banks, Rick Wakeman, Ron Mael, Joao Donato, etc.  Hugh Masekela’s version of “Keep Me Hangin’ On” is possibly the pinnacle of RMI funky melancholy.  Other dudes may have made it greasier and butterier, but none as sad.  I’ve been playing along to this all night.
